ASSOCIATION OF FRIENDS OF HAT MUSEUM

On 18 May 2006, International Museum Day, the Association of Friends of the Hat Museum was officially created. 
Being a cultural and non-profit association, aims to contribute for the development of cultural, scientific and educational activities related with Hats and the Hat industry. The Association of Friends of the Hat Museum also aims to act as an important vehicle of promotion, marketing and dialogue with the scientific community and with the general society. 
Its creation was due to the support of many institutions and individuals that, today, have a place in the governing bodies of the association with special emphasis to Municipality of S. João da Madeira , to industrial companies such Cortadoria Nacional de Pêlo, S.A., FEPSA - Feltros Portugueses S.A., Viarco - Indústria de Lápis, Lda. and Vieira Araújo & Cª, Lda., to Rotary Club of S. João da Madeira, to Highschool  João da Silva Correia and to University Fernando Pessoa.

MISSION

The Association of Friends of the Hat Museum promotes and develops activities related to scientific investigation and supports museum’s activities in the cultural, educational and playful fields, in cooperation with another associations, enterprises and educational and non-educational institutions and public and private entities.

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER?

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER?

Any individual (plus 18 years old or underage) or collective person can become a member of the Association of Friends of the Hat Museum.
In order to formalize your registration as a member you should send an email to the Direction of the Association (amigos.chapelaria@gmail.com). The registration as a member only becomes effective upon the official proposal from the Direction of the Association to the General Assembly, its approval and with the payment of the first quota.

 

There are 4 member categories: 
Founding Members – those who intervened on the signing of the deed of constitution of this association and the ones that were present on the first General Assembly. 

 

Effective Members - all individuals and legal persons to whom the General Assembly, by proposal of the Direction of the Association or of a Founding Member, chooses to assign such category.

 

Honorary Members - all individuals and legal persons to whom the General Assembly, by proposal of the Direction of the Association, a Founding Member or by its own initiative, chooses to assign such honourable category, due to the scientifically or professional value of the works produced or due to the collaboration given to the Association or to the Museum. 

 

Junior Members - it concerns all underage persons that wishes to associate to the Museum activities.

QUOTA PAYMENT

QUOTA PAYMENT

There are no membership fees. The quota is annual and its value depends on the membership category:

 

 - Collective Members: 50€

 

 - Singular Members: 5€

 

 -  Hatter and former hatter members: 2.50€

 

 - Junior members (until 18 years): free
