Last Saturday was the official opening of the most recent temporary exhibition at the Hat Museum: "Graciella Starling. High Hat Shop of Brazil". A true celebration of creativity and daring, featuring 60 stunning creations from the renowned designer, affectionately nicknamed "Philip Treacy of Brazil".
The opening event was a unique experience, enhanced by the incredible performance of the São João da Madeira Music Academy. We warmly thank the talented student Dinis Martins and the dedicated teacher João Fernandes for providing such a special and harmonious moment.
A special thanks to all who attended, making this moment even more special.
The exhibition will be open to the public until June 30, 2024. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore this fascinating universe in the heart of S. João da Madeira.

In May, the Hat Museum hosted one of the sessions of the Encontros na Moagem conference, which this year focused on the theme “What Is Memory Worth? Bringing Industrial Spaces Back to Life”, encouraging reflection on the preservation, rehabilitation, and enhancement of industrial heritage.The programme brought together researchers, architects, museum professionals, and heritage specialists to discuss a range of experiences and projects developed in Portugal and Spain.

On 27 November 2025, the Hat Museum hosted another edition of the “Visitas em Rede” programme of the Portuguese Museum Network. The visit was attended by the technical team of the Portuguese Museum Network, as well as by directors and museum professionals from across the country. During this visit, the Museum’s refurbished exhibition was presented, the result of a project supported by ProMuseus 2023.
