For those who have never visited the Hat Museum we recommend the general tour about the magical world of the hats production. This visit begins even before you enter the Museum, near the statue of the "Black Nails“. In a fun and interactive way children are invited to discover the manufacturing process of the felt hat. During this visit, participants will be challenged in their creativity and imagination and will have sensory access to raw materials, tools and machinery. The visit begins with an approach to local history through which is made a contextualization about the social, economic and cultural importance of hat industry in Portugal. At a later stage, visitors are faced with the technological evolution of this industry, from the most artisanal stage until present day.
